who we are

Mikehub.net, while originally created by Michael Hubbard is now the brainchild of husband and wife Jonathan and Thembi Hubbard, together with brother Michael Hubbard. After Michael successfully freelanced under the Mikehub.net brand he decided to turn it into a full web development company in late 2009, to which Jonathan and Thembi bought in, creating this small, yet successful family business.

what we do

From the start we wanted to do it differently. We don't present you with a generic store-bought template and spend a few minutes customizing a few colours for you. Rather we take pride in hand-coding EVERY part of our websites and custom-developing solutions for you. We follow the current standards for HTML code (set by the World Wide Web Consortium, the W3C) and general design rules and trends.

where are we

We are based in Cape Town, but don't operate out of a fixed office environment. We prefer to travel to our clients and see their environment first-hand, experiencing what needs to be converted to their website. We do our work from our homes, where we work best.

how do we do it

As described in this article in our blog we follow a certain routine when developing a website for a client. Of course this will vary depending on your circumstances and requirements. Generally we will get the details from you, send you a cost-estimate, then being by doing some mock-ups which we present to you. All our design work is done using Adobe Photoshop CS4 and all our development work is done in PHP 5 and MySQL 5.

when did we start

Michael started designing websites in 2005, while beginning PHP developing in 2008. He has been doing both professionally since the middle of 2008 and in Mikehub.net as a company since January 2010, together with brother Jonathan and sister-in-law Thembi.
